More Bad News for Louisiana

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Senator David Vitter are now pleading with the Obama administration to stop with the destruction of the gulf states. As if the oil spill washing into the marshes and on shore is not bad enough – Obama now wants to make a horrible situation worse by imposing an offshore drilling moratorium. Such a move will cost Louisiana thousands of jobs in drilling, along with thousands more that are already affected by the collapse of the fishing and tourism industries.

To show a modicum of concern, Obama finally went to take a look at oil on shore last week –- weird, yes. Bet you didn’t know “there were golf courses near the Gulf.”

Alas, it won’t work now that a backlash is building against the new offshore drilling moratorium, which some argue the dems will try to make permanent. “The order to idle 33 deepwater rigs could sideline as many as 7,000 highly paid rig workers and cost four to five times as many support jobs at catering, service boat and drilling supply companies, the oil and gas association said.”
