Here’s three smiling guys happy to be walking down the hallway in close proximity to a real live movie st … star … er, wait … That’s SARAH PALIN!

Shouldn’t it be illegal to be 45 and a grandmother and look this fab?

Oh, yeah, there’s totally a reason for this post. Governor Palin wasted her time testified before windmill hugging Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar in a federal hearing in Anchorage, urging the NObama administration to stand by Salazar’s confirmation hearing statement favoring “wise, responsible use of conventional fuels,” such as the oil and gas resources found in abundance in the Outer Continental Shelf.

Unfortunately, Salazar isn’t going to listen to a word Governor Palin has to say when she pushes for “Drill here, drill now.” He’s a windmill cheerleader who is rooting for all those non-existent offshore windmills to product 1 million megawatts of unicorn farts electrical power.

Please watch the most important 3 minutes and 29 seconds you’ll spend today viewing this clip of an eloquent Daniel Hannan, MEP for South East England, schooling PM Gordon Brown for his Obama-style massive spending and debt which is driving England to ruin — “You have run out of our money!”

Hannan points out that the PM has run up a debt in Great Britain of 10% deficit to GDP. Worse than Hungary. Worse than Pakistan. And know this: Obama now has run a 12% Deficit to GDP in the United States!

I saw this Hannan fellow should be voted in as our President. After all, that whole “natural born citizen” thingy is of No Matter anymore…

Beings as I saw VP candidate Sarah Palin in Colorado Springs back in September 2009 (see photo as “proof”), I feel a special kinship with the guv.

Anyhoo, the guv’s guy Todd came in 6th on Saturday in the 2,000-mile IronDog race and Greta Van Susteren from Fox was up there in the Great White North to cover the race. Oh hell yes, Greta does sports! She’ll cover that on her show tonight, along with an interview with Bristol (cool name) and baby Tripp. Enjoy it tonight, folks. Tomorrow it’ll be attacked by the sicko lefty bloggers. They’ve got their hate on for Bristol Palin. (cool name by the way.)

So, while I’m waiting for the Greta Hour, here’s an excerpt from a nice interview about family matters with Todd and Sarah Palin from the People magazine interview done by Sandra Sobieraj Westfall in October 2008. It’s far more revealing and interesting than that new Sarah book by another People writer, “Trailblazer: An Intimate Biography of Sarah Palin” by Lorenzo Benet. Did he even interview Sarah? I think you’ll find this far more enjoyable and “intimate.” :

What’s your favorite family vacations?
TP: To the cabin. Safari Lake. New Year’s Eve.
SP: Up to the cabin, yeah. That’s when all the family gets together and lots of our neighbors from Wasilla, we all pack up the trailers—the snow machine trailers—and head on up about 70 miles north so we can ring in the new year out in the snow, in the great outdoors, and under the Northern Lights. It’s been an absolute beautiful night each night we’ve been out there.

Have you traveled with the kids anywhere in the lower 48?
SP: Yes. Many, many, many times. Yes. Yes. We go to Hawaii often. That’s a good trip for Alaskans because it’s a direct flight down there. We’ve been to California quite a few times. Washington State quite a few times to see relatives.
TP: We enjoy our road trips –
SP: We LOVE road trips.
TP: – driving from Alaska to the lower 48.
SP: Our son a few years ago was playing hockey in Minnesota, and we missed him so much that we jumped in one of our four-door trucks and drove from Alaska to Minnesota so that we could see him for a few hours. It also gave us a good excuse to travel that part of the country with the girls also.

How long a drive is that? A week?
SP: Not the way Todd drives. And Todd never sleeps!

You’re not the first parents to cope with a teenage pregnancy. How did you get that news and what was your reaction?
SP: Just a very quick acknowledgement that Bristol and her fiancé will have to grow up a lot quicker. But she is quite mature, very kind-hearted and a very strong young woman. She’s also kind of an old soul who’s beyond any desire to be out there partying. It will all be good. We look forward to another life coming into our family.

Do you worry about her finishing high school or going to college?
SP: No. She’s a very smart girl. She’s got great grades. She’s always been a very good athlete, very plugged into school. These are less than ideal circumstances, but she is making the most of this and she will be a very, very good and loving mother. And Levi will be a very good father. And it’s going to be good. And certainly, of course, as you point out, we’re not the first.

Has this changed how you talk about sex with your other children?
SP: I’ve always been a proponent of making sure kids understand – even in schools – they’d better take preventative measures so that they don’t find themselves in these less than ideal circumstances. Perhaps Bristol could be a good example to other young women that life happens and preventative measures are, first and foremost, the option that should be considered –

Have you prepared Bristol for the sleeplessness?
SP: She has helped with Trig for these months and she helped with [7-year-old sister] Piper all those years. She’s also been a very good babysitter for nieces and nephews and cousins. She knows what it’s all about. Yeah.

Do you have a favorite childhood book you’ll be passing on to your new grandbaby?
SP: Awww. Gosh. That’s a good question. Piper and I read lots and lots of nursery rhymes, of course, and we still do. There’s a couple of really good Alaskan child books, also, about the Iditarod, the sled-dog race so, in fact a couple of those – and I’m reading one of them to Piper right now – we’ll be passing those on.

Read the full interview at the People magazine website.

When Governor Sarah Palin attended the Alfalfa Club dinner on January 31st, she was the center of attention, with more of the Washington DC elite lining up to meet her than President Obama. She was the guest of Fred Malek who dished a few tidbits of delicious gossip on his blog. Here are a few excerpts:

The warmth John McCain showed toward Sarah Palin when she arrived at my home Friday night. It was the first time they had been together since the election, and their good feelings toward each other were evident.

The gracious and engaged Sarah Palin was with everyone. It was great to see her in deep conversations with people like Alan Greenspan, Madeleine Albright, Walter Isaacson, and Mitch McConnell. For sure, nothing shallow about this lady.

The celebrity treatment Sarah received from the highly sophisticated crowd at Alfalfa. There were as many or more people lined up to meet her as there was for President Obama.

I can’t wait for his next post! fredmalekblog.com

Video Exclusive: A Revealing Morning With Sarah Palin

John Ziegler, over at www.howobamagotelected.com flew to Alaska and was granted an exclusive interview with Governor Sarah Palin. Even the story behind the story made for interesting reading. Here are a few excerpt, and the video interview -

“Largely because of absurd claims by Democrats that she was violating ethics rules by answering campaign questions on state grounds (one of several ways in which the Democrats in Alaska, who used to love her, are now fully invested in the “take Sarah Palin down” industry), we did the interview at the Palin home. At 9 a.m., without a security guard or handler in sight, Bristol Palin, eight days removed from giving birth, politely answered the door and Governor Palin, not yet fully put together, rushed out to tell myself and my crew to make ourselves at home.

One of the things you quickly learn when you visit the Palins is that the legend created around who they are and how they live is no myth. It appears to be absolutely real and everything about them seems 100% sincere. From the stuffed hunting trophies on the wall, to Track’s military photo by the TV set, to Piper’s crayon school projects on the refrigerator door – everything is exactly as you imagined.

What’s particularly valuable about my perspective is that I am not Charlie Gibson, Matt Lauer or Greta Van Susteren (who I understand now gets her mail delivered to the Palin home) — the conductors of the three most prominent interviews done in this Wasilla home on a frozen lake at the end of a drive with the sign “Palins” posted on a tree. I am virtually unknown nationally and there was absolutely no reason for anything to be done differently as “show” for us. We saw the genuine Sarah Palin and it is patently obvious this is the only one who exists.

She is the real deal.”

Now that the “maverick” has been outed as a closest liberal Democrat, Senator John McCain has formed a political action committee and emailed all of us who supported Sarah Palin the McCain-Palin campaign to send him some more money or something.

I deleted his e-mail without reading it. It started out in the tag line, “My friends,…” and that’s when I knew I was gonna get pissed off at this “maverick” again. It wasn’t until McMavrick threw Sarah under the bus said nothing when his staffers leaked smears of Sarah after the election was lost that I came to realize “maverick” actually stands for “will stand with democrats against republicans.” Yup, that’s what maverick means all right.

So I gather from other bloggers and comments that the e-mail I deleted was asking for “generous donations” so that he could start something called the Country First PAC.

Bullpuckey. If you believed in “country first”, John, you wouldn’t have stabbed us all in the back with your across-the-aisle votes on immigration reform, the $700 billion bailout, and refusal to talk about some of the concerns about Obama.

After McCain ran such a FUBAR campaign, I can’t imagine any repub giving this guy the time of day much less a donation.
