How ironic that you choose to show an Andy Warhol book alongside that ass on your chest in your Twitter post.

Yeah, we get it. You’re John McCain’s daughter. You’re a rebel … er, maverick.

Now because everyone made fun of her for posting this self-portrait (and talking about her boobs for the last three months), she’s threatening to delete her Twitter account.

I wonder if she even understands what Warhol meant when he said that everyone would be famous for 15 minutes?

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) has enlisted a number of GOP strategists from John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign. Among those getting on the Pawlenty bandwagon are Douglas Holtz-Eakin and Randy Scheunemann, two top policy advisers from the McCain presidential campaign who have joined the Minnesota governor’s host committee.

“Lots of folks want to learn more about how Gov. Pawlenty successfully governed as a conservative in a traditionally liberal-leaning state,” said Alex Conant, Pawlenty’s spokesman. “His innovative, conservative leadership is drawing a broad spectrum of people eager to help.”

The policy advisors will help Pawlenty host his first fundraiser for the Freedom First PAC, his new political action committee.

Pawlenty? He was an Epic Fail in Minnesota and now want to take his act nationally? Just what the GOP needs … another RINO candidate. Don’t waste your money donating to his PAC or anything the slimball “McCain Team” endorses. Wait for Palin, Bachmann, and the real conservatives, and try not to laugh too hard as McCainites bestow the kiss of death on Pawlenty’s career.

Here’s three smiling guys happy to be walking down the hallway in close proximity to a real live movie st … star … er, wait … That’s SARAH PALIN!

Oh, yeah, there’s totally a reason for this post. Governor Palin wasted her time testified before windmill hugging Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar in a federal hearing in Anchorage, urging the NObama administration to stand by Salazar’s confirmation hearing statement favoring “wise, responsible use of conventional fuels,” such as the oil and gas resources found in abundance in the Outer Continental Shelf.

Unfortunately, Salazar isn’t going to listen to a word Governor Palin has to say when she pushes for “Drill here, drill now.” He’s a windmill cheerleader who is rooting for all those non-existent offshore windmills to product 1 million megawatts of unicorn farts electrical power.

Actress Angie Harmon on Gov. Sarah Palin: “I admire any kind of woman like her. My whole motto is to know what I stand for and know what I don’t stand for and have the courage to live my life accordingly and she does exactly that. The fact that this woman has made the decisions she’s made and literally lived her life according to that and takes heat for it is absolutely disgusting to me,” she added.

“People cannot look at this woman. I really think they’re afraid of her and her morals, ethics and values and the fact that she hangs on them. Is she the most experienced person in the world? But she was running to be the Vice President, so we then put the most inexperienced person as the President. That didn’t make any sense to me.”

You gotta Love Angie Harmon! She’s not afraid to speak out in Hollywood – hey, remember Tinseltown’s anti-Bush motto: Dissent is Patriotic - but she speaking against Dear Leader which is brave but something that could potentially harm her career.

Dick Morris was on Greta the other night and mentioned the (mostly) positive October 2008 article on Sarah Palin by Jane Mayer for The New Yorker. (Yes – The New Yorker!)

Mayer had mentioned a 2007 cruise to Alaska attended by Morris and other prominent conservative pundits. Naturally, Sarah was just being herself but it charmed the National Republic and Weekly Standard crowd enough that they were the ones who began talking up Palin as a potential VP pick.

Excerpts from the Alaska travelers included remarks by Victor David Hanson:

Hanson, the historian, recalled Palin in high heels in the Governor’s Mansion, “walking around this big Victorian house with rough Alaska floors, saying, ‘Hi, I’m Sarah.’ ” She was “striking,” he said. “She has that aura that Clinton, Reagan, and Jack Kennedy had—magnetism that comes through much more strongly when you’re in the same room.”

And NR publisher Jack Fowler said: “This lady is something special. She connects. She’s genuine. She doesn’t look like what you’d expect. My thought was, Too bad she’s way up there in Alaska, because she has potential, but to make things happen you have to know people.”

And (the married) Bill Kristol said on July 22, 2008, on Fox that Palin was “my heartthrob.” He declared, “I don’t know if I can make it through the next three months without her on the ticket.”

Good reading in case you missed it last October. Read the full article in the New Yorker.

“The trouble with Meghan McCain is that, like her father, she has no fixed ideological principles — conservative, liberal, or otherwise. She seems to have inherited the notion that playing the “maaaaverick” imparts her with moral authority and credibility as a fresh voice for the GOP. But like her father, Ms. McCain’s maaaaverick-iness appears to be rooted less in any firm set of beliefs than in the need for liberal approbation. – Michelle Malkin.

One thing Meghan “One thing I won’t talk about publically is Sarah Palin” McCain needs to come to grips with is that her ‘maaaverick’ father lost the election on his own.

Apparently, the study concluded that the students at the University of South Florida (I’ve never heard of it either) found that the 45-year-old mom of five lost the election for McCain the the ‘Publicans because she’s too hot for the job.

Man, those lesbians down in Florida have some strange love-hate thing going on with her.

Taki’s Mag suggests she address the problem thusly: “…if Sarah Palin would learn to make a clever self-deprecating joke or two about her looks, it would remove that elephant in the room factor in a way so as to enhance her credibility.”

Well, I think she already tried that – remember her on SNL with Alex Baldwin and Lorne Michaels. That’s about as self-deprecating as you can get.

Patrick is a long time friend of Palin and has enjoyed a career boost thanks to the access she has been granted by the governor – a woman she acknowledges as more photogenic than, say, Michelle Obama.

When Governor Sarah Palin attended the Alfalfa Club dinner on January 31st, she was the center of attention, with more of the Washington DC elite lining up to meet her than President Obama. She was the guest of Fred Malek who dished a few tidbits of delicious gossip on his blog. Here are a few excerpts:

The warmth John McCain showed toward Sarah Palin when she arrived at my home Friday night. It was the first time they had been together since the election, and their good feelings toward each other were evident.

The gracious and engaged Sarah Palin was with everyone. It was great to see her in deep conversations with people like Alan Greenspan, Madeleine Albright, Walter Isaacson, and Mitch McConnell. For sure, nothing shallow about this lady.

The celebrity treatment Sarah received from the highly sophisticated crowd at Alfalfa. There were as many or more people lined up to meet her as there was for President Obama.

I can’t wait for his next post! fredmalekblog.com
