Oh, yeah, there’s totally a reason for this post. Governor Palin wasted her time testified before windmill hugging Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar in a federal hearing in Anchorage, urging the NObama administration to stand by Salazar’s confirmation hearing statement favoring “wise, responsible use of conventional fuels,” such as the oil and gas resources found in abundance in the Outer Continental Shelf.

Unfortunately, Salazar isn’t going to listen to a word Governor Palin has to say when she pushes for “Drill here, drill now.” He’s a windmill cheerleader who is rooting for all those non-existent offshore windmills to product 1 million megawatts of unicorn farts electrical power.

Oh, the irony.

Obonga still has a 58% approval rating so its not like the unwashed masses have awoke from their Kool-Aid slumber and realized “The Won” isn’t “the one.” Maybe a few of them still read the left-wing rag, Newsweek, and caught Robert Samuelson‘s calling out of The Teleprompter One:

Barack Obama is a great pretender. He constantly says he’s doing things that he isn’t, and he relies on his powerful rhetoric to obscure the difference. He has made “responsibility” a personal theme, and the budget’s cover line is “A New Era of Responsibility.” He claims that the budget begins “making the tough choices necessary to restore fiscal discipline.” It doesn’t.

A prudent president would have made a “tough choice”— concentrated on the economy, deferred his more contentious agenda. Similarly, Obama claims to seek bipartisanship but, in reality, doesn’t.

It is Obama’s conceit—perhaps his cockiness—that he can ignore blatant inconsistencies. Like many smart people, he believes he can talk his way around any problem. Perhaps he can. In this, he has an ally in much of the mainstream media, which seem so enthralled with him that they can’t recognize glaring contradictions. During the campaign, Obama claimed he would change Washington’s petty partisanship; he also advocated a highly partisan agenda. Both claims could not be true. The media barely noticed; the same obliviousness persists. But Obama still runs a risk: that his overworked rhetoric loses its power and boomerangs on him.”

We need not be reminded what Obama said last summer: “We can’t drive our SUVs and, you know, eat as much as we want and keep our homes on, you know, 72 degrees at all times, whether we’re living in the desert or we’re living in the tundra, and then just expect every other country is going to say OK, you know, you guys go ahead keep on using 25 percent of the world’s energy, even though you only account for 3 percent of the population, and we’ll be fine. Don’t worry about us. That’s not leadership.”

you, pal, ain’t leadership either.

Quickly building our capacity to generate clean electricity will lay the groundwork for the next major step needed: placing a price on carbon. If Congress acts right away to pass President Obama’s Recovery package and then takes decisive action this year to institute a cap-and-trade system for CO2 emissions – as many of our states and many other countries have already done – the United States will regain its credibility and enter the Copenhagen treaty talks with a renewed authority to lead the world in shaping a fair and effective treaty. And this treaty must be negotiated this year. Not next year. This year.

A fair, effective and balanced treaty will put in place the global architecture that will place the world – at long last and in the nick of time – on a path toward solving the climate crisis and securing the future of human civilization.

The hoax that Man Bear Pig Al Gore is pedalling is destroying businesses and entire industries. He getting rich ($100 million and counting) on carbon credit scams because he wants pay back for losing the 2000 election.

I deleted his e-mail without reading it. It started out in the tag line, “My friends,…” and that’s when I knew I was gonna get pissed off at this “maverick” again. It wasn’t until McMavrick threw Sarah under the bus said nothing when his staffers leaked smears of Sarah after the election was lost that I came to realize “maverick” actually stands for “will stand with democrats against republicans.” Yup, that’s what maverick means all right.

So I gather from other bloggers and comments that the e-mail I deleted was asking for “generous donations” so that he could start something called the Country First PAC.

Bullpuckey. If you believed in “country first”, John, you wouldn’t have stabbed us all in the back with your across-the-aisle votes on immigration reform, the $700 billion bailout, and refusal to talk about some of the concerns about Obama.

After McCain ran such a FUBAR campaign, I can’t imagine any repub giving this guy the time of day much less a donation.

Indeed, it is Mr. Gore and his brethren who are flat-Earthers. Mr. Gore states, ad nauseum, that carbon dioxide rules climate in frightening and unpredictable, and new, ways. When he shows the hockey stick graph of temperature and plots it against reconstructed C02 levels in An Inconvenient Truth, he says that the two clearly have an obvious correlation. “Their relationship is actually very complicated,” he says, “but there is one relationship that is far more powerful than all the others, and it is this: When there is more carbon dioxide, the temperature gets warmer.” The word “complicated” here is among the most significant Mr. Gore has uttered on the subject of climate and is, at best, a deliberate act of obfuscation. Why? Because it turns out that there is an 800-year lag between temperature and carbon dioxide, unlike the sense conveyed by Mr. Gore’s graph. You are probably wondering by now — and if you are not, you should be — which rises first, carbon dioxide or temperature. The answer? Temperature. In every case, the ice-core data shows that temperature rises precede rises in carbon dioxide by, on average, 800 years. In fact, the relationship is not “complicated.” When the ocean-atmosphere system warms, the oceans discharge vast quantities of carbon dioxide in a process known as de-gassing. For this reason, warm and cold years show up on the Mauna Loa C02 measurements even in the short term. For instance, the post-Pinatubo-eruption year of 1993 shows the lowest C02 increase since measurements have been kept. When did the highest C02 increase take place? During the super El Niño year of 1998.
