I’ve had a couple of democrat friends give me indications over the past month that they are fed up with the “crooks” in Washington, but each seems to have a different “last straw” or reason to rethink their support of ANYONE with a “D” at the end of their name.

It appears that the good folks at hillbuzz.org – who are dyed-in-the-wool long time Hillary Supporters and staunch democrats, are finally fed up with Obie and his white house goons, the leftist congress, and the state-run Pravda media. Hillbuzz writes:

The only party loyalty we have rests in the Clintons themselves, and their loyalists. In truth, that’s what’s kept us calling ourselves “Democrats” when in reality we are now “Clinton Moderates”, without a party of our own. We will vote against anyone who didn’t support the Clintons. We will happily vote Republican when a good, non-religious zealot is up against a corrupt, machine-candidate, Obot.

We have absolutely no respect for the Democrat Party after the way it’s behaved the last three years.

All of the above would have been UNTHINKABLE to us in 2007. Never in our lives did we think we would vote Republican or call ourselves Indepedents, but that’s where things have certainly moved.

Change is coming… and it won’t be what Obama planned on.

Just think – this is the administration that wants to push national health care on all of us. You know – that “free” health care that will be funded by other taxpayers? And yet they don’t want to pay for government employees already on the government health care plan…

It seems that Retired General Eric Shinseki wants to save a few bucks at the Veterans Administration by making men and women injured during military service to PAY for their own care:

Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make wounded warriors pay for treatment of service-related injuries by purchasing private insurance.

Asked about the proposal, Shinseki said it was under consideration. “A final decision hasn’t been made yet,” he said.

No money for the troops but Obams will spend billions on abortions overseas and oh yes $900 million to Hamas terrorists rebuild Gaza.

Gov. Sarah Palin‘ s recent appointment of Judge Morgan Christen to the Alaska Supreme Court, caused a dust-up.

Ms. Christen’s appointment had been opposed initially by the state’s social conservatives because Christen was [allegedly] a liberal who had served on the board of directors of Planned Parenthood. The Alaska Daily News headline was “Palin Bucks Pressure in Supreme Court Appointment.”

Progressives called Palin hypocritical for having Pro-Life (er, I guess they call it “Anti Pro-choice”) views and then appointing a Pro-Choice Lib to the Court.

Not so fast…

The truth is that the Alaska Judicial Council only forwarded TWO NAMES to the governor for consideration. Governor Palin selected the lesser of two evils, as the Independent Christen was a better choice than Democrat Eric Smith who has a history of environmental activism from the bench and could do serious harm to Alaska’s environmental and economic policies.

By law, the governor is not permitted any other choice. She must pick one of the two. “None of the above” is not allowed.

But now some folks have started the research and are questioning whether Christen ever worked for Planned Parenthood at all. Christen doesn’t mention working with Planned Parenthood in her bio, and PP doesn’t mention her either. The whole sordid event seems to be nothing more than a political smear started by a left-wing blogger.

Uh, when they show up. Not that they have to show up that often. But for all this hard work, the Pelosi-Reid House of Thieves just gave themselves a raise and now make $174,000 a year.

“There is another responsibility we have to our children… to ensure that we do not pass on to them a debt they cannot pay. With the deficit we inherited, the cost of the crisis we face, and the long-term challenges we must meet, it has never been more important to ensure that as our economy recovers, we do what it takes to bring this deficit down.” – Obama, 24 Feb 2009

Let’s look at that Bush budget deficit: it $162 billion in FY2007 or slightly more than 1 percent of GDP. This was less than the growth of GDP, so the burden of debt was in decline. Then Democrats took over in January 2007 and have nearly tripled the deficit. Since then they have increased it by at least another factor of 3, for the highest ever deficit since WWII (about 10 percent of GDP).

More numbers? Here:

When the Democrats regained control of Congress on January 4, 2007, the national debt was $8.67 trillion.

In the two years Pelosi and the Democrats have been in charge, the national debt has grown to $10.70 trillion. That means $2.03 trillion has been added to the national debt for an increase of 23% increase in two years the Democrats have controlled Congress.

Add to that the $1.3 trillion in spending the Dems added just this week! But then, February isn’t over yet…
