Governor Palin Thrills Right to Life Crowd in Indiana

April 19, 2009 · Posted in Sarah Palin · Comments Off

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin told a sold-out crowd in Indiana that she was 13 weeks into her pregnancy with her child, Trig, when she found out that he had Down Syndrome.  Weight the devastating news, the pro-life mom said she briefly wondered about terminating the pregnancy.

She said discovered she was pregnant while out of state attending an oil and gas conference. “I thought, nobody knows me here. Nobody will ever know … It is easy to think of maybe trying to change the circumstances.”

Palin added, “I had to ask myself, am I compassionate enough to take care of this child?”

But when Trig was born, Palin said, “I felt a love that I had never felt before, and compassion that I didn’t even know. Trig is a miracle, and he has brought us amazing and surprising happiness.”

As for Palin’s successful first public appearance since the November election, Thomas B. Langhorne writing in the Evansville Courier & Press write some behind-the-scenes comments of Governor Palin’s appearance at the sold out Vanderburgh County Right to Life Banquet last week. Here are some excerpts:

It wasn’t supposed to be a political event, but try telling that to a man who has seen 2,200 people react when he walks into a banquet hall. Sgt. Robert Goedde, a sheriff’s officer who was at Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s side throughout her 17-hour stay in Evansville, says Palin was besieged at Thursday’s Vanderburgh County Right to Life banquet by people urging her to run for president in 2012.

The exhortations, which Goedde called a constant refrain, began as soon as he and Palin and other officers began making their way to the banquet’s head table through surging crowds in The Centre’s assembly hall. The journey, during which Palin was mobbed by people seeking autographs and pictures, took 20 minutes.

“Some people would shout it out, and you’d see others just asking her,” Goedde said. “I heard it two or three times a minute, the entire time. She’d just smile and wave. She was very gracious.”

Nick Hermann, chairman of the Vanderburgh County Republican Party, said Palin’s personal magnetism is also a key to her appeal. “She has great stage presence, but she also works the crowd well,” Hermann said. “It’s unusual to have both. Mike Huckabee, for instance, works the crowd well but doesn’t have the stage presence.”

“The Right to Life banquet (at which Palin teared up over her baby son who was born with Down syndrome and spoke openly of her teenage daughter’s pregnancy) was the first time I’ve seen her really open up and talk about her story, her feelings,” he said. “Sometimes, politicians seem too perfect. She really connected with people.”

It was a sentiment expressed over and over again by people who met Palin while she was in Evansville, including several young servers at Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano who waited on the Alaska governor at Friday’s private breakfast event hosted by S.M.I.L.E. on Down syndrome.

“It didn’t even feel like you were in front of somebody that was famous,” said server Chrissy Heffernan. “It felt like you were in front of somebody that you’ve known forever. She was just very nice, very personable, very personable.”

Goedde, who headed up a detail of about 20 city and county law enforcement officers who volunteered or were compensated by Right to Life to guard Palin, said he made a point of watching the Alaska governor’s interactions with people.

“I thought, ‘I’m going to watch and see if there’s ever a sign that this is all a put-on,’” he said. “I never saw it. Never once did I see her say or do anything that made her look less than sincere, like rolling her eyes when no one was looking. She was just like a hometown girl from Evansville, Ind., coming home after making good.”

Goedde marveled at Palin’s ability to remember the first names of people she met and to connect with each of the law enforcement officers who protected her. People looked up to her almost in a rock star way, but it was also with respect, not just ‘Oh, Sarah, Sarah,’” he said. “I don’t know any other way to say it, but this lady is the real deal.”

Palin made a similar impression on Nina Fuller, who shared a private breakfast with her and about a half-dozen other people Friday morning before the larger event at Biaggi’s. “There was not a political word in the conversation,” said Fuller, executive director of S.M.I.L.E. “Gov. Palin is now a good friend of mine, and her name is Sarah.”

Denver Tea Party Brings Out Conservatives and Pumas

April 16, 2009 · Posted in Obamanomics, stimulus bill · Comments Off

I attended the Denver Tea Party yesterday, very happy to be representin’ my conservative people – who are (apparently) now considered Right Wing Extremists (like the woman below – LOL!) according to Janet Napolitano. Oooh! FEAR Us!

If you love God, love your family, love your country, and love your countrymen – then you are an Enemy of the Obama Government (it is no longer the US Government). But what was really great to see at the Denver rally – and at the other hundreds of rallies across the US – was the number of young people, college age and under 30, who showed up.  There were no pro-Obama counter-protesters at the rally, despite the call by Daily Kos to disrupt the nationwide events and turn them into angry protests.

Instead, the protest was attended by 5,000 well-behaved but pissed taxpayers and concerned citizens who exercised their freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. Many were rather sheepish to be at the event, but face it, conservatives aren’t good at this kind of protest thing. It took Congress going on a trillion-plus dollar stimulus spending spree on our money to bring out people who had never before attended a political or protest rally.

As for the people who drove by on Colfax Avenue, they honked and rolled down their windows and cheered when they realized what the huge mass of people in front of the capitol building were there protesting!

It’s just the beginning. We are going to learn and get better and we will bring more people next time. We are not a small minority. After all,  47% of the electorate voted against Obama. It’s not like he has a mandate, and many of the 53% that did support him are now very worried that their Messiah isn’t The Won they thought he was.

Ziegler Busted For Reporting … in Front of J-School!

April 16, 2009 · Posted in Left Wing Media · Comments Off

Filmmaker John Ziegler was arrested for committed the crime of journalism in front of a Journalism School Event! He was arrested by security guards at USC’s Annenberg School of Journalism for, well, doing a report on a story.  Ziegler had gone there because Katie Couric was receiving the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism SOLELY because of one event: her smear job of interview of Sarah Palin.

He intended to also give away Free copies of his film to the ceremony attendees but was literally prevented from doing so when he was handcuffed and led away.

What did they think Ziegler was going to do?

Ask Couric a “Gotcha” question?

See the video at www.breitbart.tv

As for Couric getting an award for making $15 million a year while destroying CBS news ratings punking Palin last October during the campaign is just ridiculous.

Couric is a skanky moose. End of.

Alaska Offshore Oil Drilling…Gone With the Wind?

April 14, 2009 · Posted in Global Colding, Green Lunacy, John McCain, Sarah Palin, Uncategorized · Comments Off

Here’s three smiling guys happy to be walking down the hallway in close proximity to a real live movie st … star … er, wait … That’s SARAH PALIN!

Shouldn’t it be illegal to be 45 and a grandmother and look this fab?

Oh, yeah, there’s totally a reason for this post. Governor Palin wasted her time testified before windmill hugging Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar in a federal hearing in Anchorage, urging the NObama administration to stand by Salazar’s confirmation hearing statement favoring “wise, responsible use of conventional fuels,” such as the oil and gas resources found in abundance in the Outer Continental Shelf.

Unfortunately, Salazar isn’t going to listen to a word Governor Palin has to say when she pushes for “Drill here, drill now.” He’s a windmill cheerleader who is rooting for all those non-existent offshore windmills to product 1 million megawatts of unicorn farts electrical power.

Thousands of Dolphins Block Somali Pirates

“Chinese merchant ships escorted by a China’s fleet sailed on the Gulf of Aden when they met some suspected pirate ships. Thousands of dolphins suddenly leaped out of water between pirates and merchants … forcing the suspected pirates ships to stop and then turned away. The pirates could only lament their littleness befor the vast number of dolphins. The spectacular scene continued for a while. ” Just … wow.

Oy, It’s On! Mama Grizzly Sarah Palin Calls Levi a Liar

April 10, 2009 · Posted in Palin Derangement Syndrome · Comments Off

The Anchorage Daily News reports that Governor Sarah Palin held a press conference today, the non-Obama kind where reporters are allowed to ask about anything, and the questions are not planted or approved in advance. She talked about the stimulus bill for Alaska but she also had this gem in response to a question about Levi Johnston who, along with his mom and pathologically weird sister, has been making the rounds on talk shows to smear Bristol Palin, the mother of his young infant son.

Specifically, Levi had claimed that he had moved in with the Palin family in Wasilla (“yeah, my stuff was there,” he said on the Early Show) a few weeks before Bristol gave birth to Tripp on December 28.

Governor Palin said that wasn’t true: “I know the truth about my family,” Palin said. “I know details about whether Levi Johnston was allowed to live with my teenage daughter or not. By the way, it would be over my dead body that a kid would live with my teenage daughter.”

Levi is calling the Palin family liars and claiming he did sort of live there for 2 months: “They said I didn’t live there. I ’stayed there.’ I was like, ‘OK, whatever you want to call it’ — I had all my stuff there.  So, if you wanna call it ’staying there,’ that’s fine.”

UPDATE: Sarah said the following about Levi on the Eddie Burke Radio show yesterday:

“He’s a young kid…every kid that age has a lot of growing up to do, but forever and ever he’s going to be Tripp’s father… he’s going to be part of our family. We will love him and help him through this. I anticipate that at the end of the day, things are going to be good…just kind of a rough time right now.”

Sarah went on to say that the assertion that she and Todd allowed Levi to share a room with Bristol is a “bee in my bonnet right now…I would NEVER give a teenage boy permission to live with a teenage girl…”

In reference to the whole situation she added: “My prayer is always for wisdom and strength…part of that wisdom that I ask for is to know when to shut-up…to know when to keep my mouth shut and let the truth be revealed on its own.”

Maybe He’s Just Not That Into You, Bristol

April 8, 2009 · Posted in Palin Derangement Syndrome · Comments Off

Today we have the obligatory Johnston Family smackdown of anything named PALIN as well as a weird revelation that baby daddy Levi Johnston’s sister Mercede has a “thing” going on for her brother.

While denying they are WHITE TRASH, the family – Levi, sis Mercede and Oxycontin mom Sherry – are loving the attention and have followed up an appearance on the TYRA BANKS SHOW Monday with an appearance on CBS’s “The Early Show” yesterday.

What’s the next stop on the coattails tour? Surely Letterman? Leno? 60 minutes? Is Jerry Springer still doing his show?

But wait for it – that “thing” that I mentioned? It seems that while Levi has a smallish tattoo of his son’s mother’s name – “Bristol” – on his ring finger, which he says he now regrets, his lil sis Mercede, who is JEALOUS of her brother’s ex-girlfriend, went out an got a honking BIG TATTOO that says “LEVI” on her WRIST. The sucker is HUGE.

Forget the fact that Mercede is only 17 and why would momma Johnston allow such a young girl, a minor, to get a permanent inking on her wrist, but why would a sister get a brother’s name nailed on her skin? It’s creepy.

It’s not like he died in Iraq – I could see a sister honoring her brother that way – but to show affection for your redneck loser brother because his life is FUBAR  is just … ewwwww.

Is it some Alaska hillbilly thing? If so, Levi needs to rethink that White Trash self-actualization – it fit him to a T and it doesn’t help matters to have a sister with an incestuous a devotional tattoo on such a prominent place on her body.

Prediction time: some folks think Levi Johnston will eventually fad away, but I think he’s found his gravy train. He may go into porn (he says he’s “open” to the idea of an acting or modeling career), or he’ll try to sell a book about the Palins, or else he’ll just keep popping up on talk shows to slam Bristol and her mom until he forges a career out of “being in close proximity to a celebrity.” Hey, it worked for Kevin Federline.

Unfortunately, Levi has now become a champion of the left and is being used in their vigilant efforts to destroy Sarah Palin.

And he doesn’t even know it.

A Cover Girl Should SELL. THE. MAGAZINE.

April 7, 2009 · Posted in Left Wing Media · Comments Off

The lofty stories and articles about how “gorgeous” and “glamour” Michelle Obama is do not pass the smell test. Who are we supposed to believe – the MSM or our own lying eyes? I don’t think it is racist at all to disagree with the talking heads and just admit that, black or white, Michelle as a woman is no beauty. Facts are facts.

But it isn’t the fawning that suffers from Obama-mania; editors who put Michelle on the cover of their magazines are finding out that the public isn’t buying the hype and they are voting their opinions with their wallets.

According to Agage.com, Michelle’s cover girl appeal is limited to African-American publications while other magazines have had mixed results. “No doubt she’s been embraced by the media world, appearing on cover after cover, from Us Weekly to Newsweek. But when it comes to sales, Ms. Obama may not yet be general-interest magazines’ new Princess Diana, who regularly helped the industry sell more copies at newsstands,” says Advertising Age writers.

That appeal just ain’t there. Why is it so important to the leftist media that she be made into something she is not? Even photoshopped, she is not attractive, she is not feminine, and is a fashion disaster to boot. Oscar de la Renta questioned why a first lady would wear a gauche cardigan sweater to visit Buckingham Palace.

It’s going to be a long four years.

Don’t Hate Me Because I’m Beautiful. (Cause I AM!)

April 5, 2009 · Posted in Left Wing Media, Sarah Palin · Comments Off

It’s an issue that has mystified conservatives, Republicans, and Palin-lovin’ Independents since September, 2008, and that’s: Why does the left hate (and fear) Sarah Palin so much? After all, she and Senator McCain lost in November, Obambi is in the White House, the Dems control both houses of Congress … Palin can’t touch them. Yet they continue to obsess about her. Why?

House of Eratosthenes takes a lengthy shot at the phenomenon of hating on Palin because she is: a) dang beautiful. b) happily married and a mom of five. c) successful on her own without sleeping her way into the job. But those that hate Palin just hate that she … exists. And they hate that she may inspire others to be … monogamous, a loving mom, hard-working, successful, healthy, and happy. Oh the horror!

Here’s his first observation: “I think it’s fair to say nobody feels lukewarm about her. At all. You love her or you hate her.” Agreed. I’ve seen the former kind. Those that love some Sarah are so much more enjoyable to be around!

Should Obama Control the Internet?

April 5, 2009 · Posted in Not Politics as Usual · Comments Off

From the hippie left Mother Jones website, lefty goonies are finally alarmed at something Dear Leader is getting his congressional lackeys to try and implement into law: “Senators John Rockefeller (D-W. Va.) and Olympia Snowe (RINO-Maine) … introduced a bill to establish the Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor—an arm of the executive branch that would have vast power to monitor and control Internet traffic to protect against threats to critical cyber infrastructure. That broad power is rattling some civil libertarians.”

I don’t have the stomach to cruise lefty websites like Huffpo or DailyKos to see what the mood is like, but this was an eye-opener.  So far, most of the 150 commenters are pissed by this latest proposed fascist takeover of a freedom of speech. Thank God the Kool-aid is wearing off and they’ll see what conservatives have been trying to warn the lemming masses about for over a year now.
