Palin a Tax Dodger? Put Her in Obama’s Cabinet!
Sarah Palin didn’t pay taxes on Per Diem expenses incurred while serving as governor? The Anti-Palin rag, The Anchorage Daily News, is reporting that Governor Palin might owe back taxes on “thousands of dollars in expense money she received while living at her Wasilla home,” says state officials.
They don’t report how much she might owe, but she’s not the only politician oe state official who could be in violation of something in the IRS’s clear as mud 67,000-page tax code.
“At the Governor’s request, we reviewed the situation to determine whether [state employees] were in full compliance with the pertinent Internal Revenue Service regulations,” Annette Kreitzer, state administration commissioner stated.
“As a result of this review, we determined that per diem needs to be treated as income, requiring a revision of W-2 forms for any affected employees.”
Did you catch those three four key words? At the Governor’s request? That means Sarah put this out there so full disclosure could be made and the compliance can be determined. This isn’t the scandal the ADN makes it out to be, but they’ll try.
