Camille Paglia Salutes Sarah, Slams Perky Katie
Camille Paglia, who voted for Obama, is nevertheless a defender of Governor Palin.
Check out this last part from an article she wrote this week:
“As I have repeatedly said in this column, I have never had the slightest problem in understanding Sarah Palin’s meaning at any time. On the contrary, I have positively enjoyed her fresh, natural, rapid delivery with its syncopated stops and slides — a fabulous example of which was the way (in her recent interview with John Ziegler) that she used a soft, swooping satiric undertone to zing Katie Couric’s dippy narcissism and to assert her own outrage as a “mama grizzly” at libels against her family.
Ideology-driven attacks on Palin became clotted liberal clichés within 24 hours of her introduction as John McCain’s running mate. What a bunch of tittering lemmings the urban elite have become in this country. From Couric’s vicious manipulations of video clips to Cavett’s bourgeois platitudes, the preemptive strike on Palin as a potential presidential candidate has grossly misfired. Whatever legitimate objections may be raised to Palin on political grounds (explored, for example, by David Talbot in Salon) have been lost in the amoral overkill that has defamed a self-made woman of concrete achievement in the public realm.
And let me take this opportunity to say that of all the innumerable print and broadcast journalists who have interviewed me in the U.S. and abroad since I arrived on the scene nearly 20 years ago, Katie Couric was definitively the stupidest. As a guest on NBC’s “Today” show during my 1992 book tour, I was astounded by Couric’s small, humorless, agenda-ridden mind, still registered in that pinched, tinny monotone that makes me rush across the room to change stations whenever her banal mini-editorials blare out at 5 p.m. on the CBS radio network. And of course I would never spoil my dinner by tuning into Couric’s TV evening news show. That sallow, wizened, drum-tight, cosmetic mummification look is not an appetite enhancer outside of Manhattan or L.A. There’s many a moose in Alaska with greater charm and pizazz.”

In Paglia’s article written back on October 8, 2008, she writes:
“The mountain of rubbish poured out about Palin over the past month would rival Everest. What a disgrace for our jabbering army of liberal journalists and commentators, too many of whom behaved like snippy jackasses…One of the most idiotic allegations batting around out there among urban media insiders is that Palin is “dumb.” Are they kidding? What level of stupidity is now par for the course in those musty circles? People who can’t see how smart Palin is are trapped in their own narrow parochialism-the tedious, hackneyed forms of their upper-middle-class syntax and vocabulary…I admire her competitive spirit and her exuberant vitality, which borders on the supernormal…both Todd and Sarah Palin…have emerged as powerful new symbols of a revived contemporary feminism. That the macho Todd, with his champion athleticism and working-class creed, can so amiably cradle babies and care for children is a huge step forward in American sexual symbolism.”
Obamasham Wow!
So far, this is Obama’s cabinet: a Commerce Secretary appointment that wasn’t vetted and bowed out because of corruption scandal, a Treasury Secretary appointment that didn’t pay his taxes, a Secretary of Education who has run one of the worst public school systems in the country for the last seven years, a CIA Chief appointment with no intelligence background, and a Secretary of State who’s only foreign policy experience is as a tourist and lied about being shot at in Bosnia.
And this is just the beginning, folks.

The Blago Gets Impeached!
He hasn’t even been indicted yet but Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has been impeached this morning by the Illinois House.
The AP reported:
The Illinois House voted overwhelmingly Friday to impeach Gov. Rod Blagojevich, an unprecedented action that sets up a Senate trial on whether he should be thrown out for allegedly trying to sell President-elect Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat.
Impeachment required just 60 votes. The final result was 114-1.
Legislators accused the second-term Democratic governor of letting down the people of Illinois by letting ego and ambition drive his decisions.
“It’s our duty to clean up the mess and stop the freak show that’s become Illinois government,” said Rep. Jack D. Franks, a Democrat.
Blagojevich was arrested Dec. 9 on federal charges that include allegations he schemed to profit from his power to name Obama’s replacement in the Senate. The criminal complaint included an FBI agent’s sworn affidavit describing wiretaps that caught Blagojevich allegedly talking about what he could get for the seat, how to pressure people into making campaign contributions and more.
John Ziegler’s Palin Interview
Video Exclusive: A Revealing Morning With Sarah Palin
John Ziegler, over at www.howobamagotelected.com flew to Alaska and was granted an exclusive interview with Governor Sarah Palin. Even the story behind the story made for interesting reading. Here are a few excerpt, and the video interview -
“Largely because of absurd claims by Democrats that she was violating ethics rules by answering campaign questions on state grounds (one of several ways in which the Democrats in Alaska, who used to love her, are now fully invested in the “take Sarah Palin down” industry), we did the interview at the Palin home. At 9 a.m., without a security guard or handler in sight, Bristol Palin, eight days removed from giving birth, politely answered the door and Governor Palin, not yet fully put together, rushed out to tell myself and my crew to make ourselves at home.

One of the things you quickly learn when you visit the Palins is that the legend created around who they are and how they live is no myth. It appears to be absolutely real and everything about them seems 100% sincere. From the stuffed hunting trophies on the wall, to Track’s military photo by the TV set, to Piper’s crayon school projects on the refrigerator door – everything is exactly as you imagined.
What’s particularly valuable about my perspective is that I am not Charlie Gibson, Matt Lauer or Greta Van Susteren (who I understand now gets her mail delivered to the Palin home) — the conductors of the three most prominent interviews done in this Wasilla home on a frozen lake at the end of a drive with the sign “Palins” posted on a tree. I am virtually unknown nationally and there was absolutely no reason for anything to be done differently as “show” for us. We saw the genuine Sarah Palin and it is patently obvious this is the only one who exists.
She is the real deal.”
John McCain Forms PAC for Shits and Giggles
Now that the “maverick” has been outed as a closest liberal Democrat, Senator John McCain has formed a political action committee and emailed all of us who supported Sarah Palin the McCain-Palin campaign to send him some more money or something.
I deleted his e-mail without reading it. It started out in the tag line, “My friends,…” and that’s when I knew I was gonna get pissed off at this “maverick” again. It wasn’t until McMavrick threw Sarah under the bus said nothing when his staffers leaked smears of Sarah after the election was lost that I came to realize “maverick” actually stands for “will stand with democrats against republicans.” Yup, that’s what maverick means all right.
So I gather from other bloggers and comments that the e-mail I deleted was asking for “generous donations” so that he could start something called the Country First PAC.
Bullpuckey. If you believed in “country first”, John, you wouldn’t have stabbed us all in the back with your across-the-aisle votes on immigration reform, the $700 billion bailout, and refusal to talk about some of the concerns about Obama.
After McCain ran such a FUBAR campaign, I can’t imagine any repub giving this guy the time of day much less a donation.
A Still Small Voice Comes From Bowels of Hollywood
Can that be a conservative voice making a new, fresh, albeit small noise from the radical left hills of Hollywood?
Andrew Breitbart, that phenomenal website creator who created Drudge and the Huffington Post for their owners, today debuts his latest creation, Big Hollywood. He’ll be joined by conservative actors such as Jon Voight and Gary Sinese as they step out from the shadows and show that conservatives do indeed exist in Hollywood.
Will it make a difference? Maybe not, but maybe it will give a platform for others in Show Business to express their views without fear of being black listed.
CNN Lists Palin Alongside Criminals for 2008
CNN gives its retched audience another sweet piece of Palin-bashing candy to suck on. In their year in review, they included Governor Sarah Palin among eight “Politicians who fell from grace in 2008.” CNN hacks decided on Sarah, Rob Blagojevich, John Edwards, Kwame Kilpatrick, Larry Langford, Tim Maloney, Elliot Spitzer and Ted Stevens, as the most corrupt, vile, thieving, disgusting public servants.
The seven men have been convicted of criminal actions, or have been indicted for corruption, lost their positions, been drummed out of their party, or are soon to face jail time.
And to that list, they include the popular Governor of Alaska? The Palin Derangement Syndrome on display is laughable.

Palin Gets Props From Prozac Nation Author
Elizabeth Wurtzel, the author of “Prozac Nation” and no fan of Republican Gov. Sarah Palin , gives a balanced and fair assessment of why Palin has better qualifications than Democratic Senate Hopeful Caroline Kennedy.

“Sarah Palin, to her credit, understood this: after a couple of days of maternity leave when her special-needs baby was born last year, she was back in Anchorage, running Alaska. Powerful female friends of mine with kids who maintain a high position in a man’s world all did the same thing: brief leave and back to the grinder; they didn’t want office politics and the forward propulsion of time itself — time the avenger — to put them out to pasture. For all the crap talk of ‘choice feminism’ — whatever the hell that means — we are never going to feminize the world. Women who want to succeed pretty much have to work as long and as hard as men typically do, and that’s that. What does Caroline Kennedy know of this hellishness? She hasn’t held a paid position since her children were born, nor did she have a proper job even before that.”
The rest of the article was still a snarky Palin slam – but this was the section worthy of a link.
Taxpayers Pay For UK’s Mountain of Recycled Trash
Recycling crisis: Taxpayers foot the bill for UK’s growing waste paper mountain
Taxpayers are facing a multi-million-pound bill to store 100,000 tons of waste paper and cardboard as the British recycling industry plunges into crisis. Rubbish carefully sorted by householders is piling up in vast warehouses as the market for waste paper collapses, and experts have warned that the mountain of garbage could double in the next three months.
