A Look at the life of Sarah Palin

Gov. Sarah Palin has always been a runner. Her parents were marathoners and high school track and cross-country coaches. “Running was a family affair,” she says. “I didn’t have much choice. Thankfully, I’ve never tired of it.”
Gov. Palin, a mother of five kids, says exercise is still very much a “family thing.” She and her husband, Todd, also an athlete, named their first son Track because he was born in that sport’s season. Gov. Palin (above, near Mendenhall Glacier, outside of Juneau) and her family live in Wasilla, about 45 miles north of Anchorage.
Workout
“Conventional running is my sanity,” Gov. Palin says. Having recently given birth to her fifth child, the governor is trying to get back to her old workout routine. She was running 7 to 10 miles almost every day but switched to aerobics classes at her gym when she became pregnant. She has worked her way back up to running three miles every other day.
In the summer, when it’s always light, she’ll sometimes run as late as midnight. In the dead of winter, when it’s dark, she sneaks in an afternoon run, or else grudgingly runs on the treadmill at home or at the gym in the evening. Gov. Palin keeps dumbbells at home, but she says most of her upper body strength comes from snowmobiling with her family. “It’s the best upper body workout you could ever have,” she says. “You’re maneuvering through hundreds of pounds of powder.” (Todd is a four-time champion of the Tesoro Iron Dog, the world’s longest snowmobile race.)
Diet pitfall
“My family and I eat a healthy diet heavy in wild Alaskan seafood, moose, caribou and fresh fruit,” she says. “I guess my biggest pitfall is breakfast. I know it’s the most important meal of the day but I still haven’t bought into it. I hate to admit it, but a skinny white-chocolate mocha is my staple in the morning.”
Workout gear
“My ideal fantasy is to be running on a hot dusty road just wearing running shorts and some kind of top that wicks away sweat. But in reality I’m running in 20-below temperatures, so I wear layers of fleece and always a good outdoor waterproof trail shoe. Right now I’ve been running in Nike Air Structure Triax. And I always wear sunglasses. My kids tell me to put them on so I don’t freak people out when they see me with a goofy hairdo and no makeup.”
While I’m working out
“I’m thinking about my next speech. I usually write my best speeches and letters [in my head] while out running. That is my inspired time.”
Postworkout food
“Nothing. I just drink water.”
Workout pitfall
“Being pregnant every few years. If I get lazy and go weeks or months without exercising it’s not because of circumstances but because I’m being less disciplined. Shame on me.”

Illinois and Chicago leadership is all democrats: Senators Barack Obama & Dick Durbin, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., Illinois Governor Rod Blogojevich, Illinois House leader Mike Madigan, Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike), and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley) …..again, all Democrats.
Incredibly, they’ve been reduced to blaming each other for the mess. They can’t blame Republicans – there aren’t any there!
This is the political culture in Illinois in which Obama trained and learned his political craft. He will now take the fight to bright the culture war to a national level.

There’s Still One Republican left in Congress
Score one for House Minority Leader John Boehner who today called for the complete decoupling of notorious Democratic ally ACORN from the federal government:
“The latest allegations of voter registration fraud by ACORN are further evidence that this group cannot be trusted with another dollar of the taxpayers’ money.
“Election cycle after election cycle, this organization has been at the forefront of breaking the law in order to promote their left-wing agenda. All the while, they have been the recipients of millions of dollars of federal funding through various federal programs and third-party groups. House Republicans took at stand recently to cut off funding to an ACORN slush fund created by their allies in the House Majority, but now more must be done.
It’s a national outrage that this left wing radical group is government funded! Write to your congressman to stop this fraud and waste of our tax dollars.
What an Obama Presidency would look like
Interesting piece from an embedded reporter on the Obama campaign and how it compares to the McCain team campaign – where the adults are. Dean Reynolds from CBS (of all places!) writes:
After most of the previous 12 months covering Barack Obama’s campaign for the presidency, it was interesting, instructive and, well, relaxing to follow John McCain for the last few days. The differences between the two are striking. …
Obama’s campaign schedule is fuller, more hectic and seemingly improvisational. The Obama aides who deal with the national reporters on the campaign plane are often overwhelmed, overworked and un-informed about where, when, why or how the candidate is moving about. Baggage calls are preposterously early with the explanation that it’s all for security reasons.
If so, I would love to have someone from Obama’s campaign explain why the entire press corps, the Secret Service, and the local police idled for two hours in a Miami hotel parking lot recently because there was nothing to do and nowhere to go. It was not an isolated case. …
The McCain folks are more helpful and generally friendly. The schedules are printed on actual books you can hold in your hand, read, and then plan accordingly. The press aides are more knowledgeable and useful to us in the news media. The events are designed with a better eye, and for the simple needs of the press corps. When he is available, John McCain is friendly and loquacious. Obama holds news conferences, but seldom banters with the reporters who’ve been following him for thousands of miles around the country. Go figure.
The McCain campaign plane is better than Obama’s, which is cramped, uncomfortable and smells terrible most of the time. Somehow the McCain folks manage to keep their charter clean, even where the press is seated.
We Need a Revolution – in both Political Parties

How about this one: Obama is standing in the way of our personhood. Obama stands in the way of our self-determination. Obama stands in the way of our dignity and worth. Friends, it is time we recognized our power, our amazing strength. WE have the votes to swing this country in OUR election. We have the ability to send this pernicious party apparatus to the level of Hell where it belongs. We can give a new Democratic party four years to rebuild and put the remaining Democrats on notice that we expect them to represent US. We can start our own Revolution.
Why Does the Left hate Sarah Palin?
This is the question we’ve been asking for 5 weeks now, ever since her name was announced by John McCain to be his running mate in late August. Why does the left hate Sarah Palin? Why does the right hate Hillary Clinton?
As it turns out, the two left/right sides hate the other’s woman for the same reasons. In a fantastic post by That’s me on the Left, many of these hate-filled rants were examine at length. Here’s some of what “that’smeontheleft” discovered:
Every time the media, the DNC elite and the Obama thug squad keep moving the goal post and rearranging the rules to suit themselves and saying:
It’s not enough. You’re not enough. You’ll never be enough. No matter how you do it, we will find something wrong with it. We will find something wrong with you. Your pantsuits. Your ass. Your face. Your cackle. Your statements. Your family. Your solid record, which we will pretend amounts to much less than the empty briefcase of the charlatan against whom you are running.
Cold comfort to see this was not reserved for Hillary alone.

ObamaZombies Will Vote Before Halloween
Further proof that Obama is the second coming of Christ. He can resurrect the dead! And shock! They are Obama voters!
The voter fraud sweeping the country seems especially effective in Ohio, and uh, Indiana, Florida, and elsewhere. It’s almost so common and casual that people take it for granted. Isn’t that the point?
Here’s the Indiana story: ACORN, Barack Obama’s own special organization has been caught in Indiana illegally registering to vote. (”County rejects Large Number of Invalid Voter Registrations”).
